• I was born somewhere in the northern part of the Netherlands and went to school in Leeuwarden.
• I studied Germanic Languages and Translation Science at the RUGroningen, Faculty of Arts and at the Freie Universität Berlin

Non-professional Interests

• I like trains and I have a railway page.
• I like to live in Leuven.
• I'm living together with my cat Tinus.

Professional Activities

• 1989-1993 research and implementation for the Eurotra project
• 1993-1995 reservation agent for TSR, part of the SABRE Group and an affiliate of American Airlines
• From December 1994 till July 1996 research and implementation for a project called LS-Gram-Plus.
• From 1996 till 2002, I worked for the localisation company Macbyte/Traffic/Sykes/SDL, where my main task was Translation Preprocessing and Quality Control.
• From October 2002 till November 2003 I worked at the Speech Group of ESAT-PSI, also part of the KULeuven, where I worked for the project Corpus Gesproken Nederlands.
• Currently I'm working for the BTTB, the Flemish Association of Public Transport Users.
